This is a list of unique, non-commercially available Mattel Disney Pixar Cars items that were created solely for presentation within (or by) Disney or Mattel, or for charital contributions.
Mattel
- One-of-a-kind display case signed by John Lasseter, auctioned by the Children Affected by AIDS Charity Foundation (sponsored by Toys R Us) on October 27, 2007.[1] The case contained prototypes of then-upcoming 2008 models, most notably Richard Clayton Kensington, whose release was cancelled and would not be re-introduced until 2010. Purchased for $13,000 by the president of Toys R Us.[1][2] Also features one-of-a-kind Red Ransburg Lightning McQueen
- 50 copies of Red Ransburg Lightning McQueen with "Cars Team '09" on spoiler given out to fall 2007 "brainstorm" session attendees[3][4]
- Darth Mater statue piece, designed by the Mattel Action Play Entertainment Design Team (credits Martin Arriola, Manson Cheung, Hank Miller, James Mazzolini, Brandon Ozaki, In Roh, Joe Sid, Mike Strauss, Joe Wu, Mattel Model Shop - Mattel/Gentle Giant Studios) and Disney-Pixar (credits Ben Butcher, Emery Low) and auctioned for CAAF on October 25, 2008.[2] Signed by George Lucas and John Lasseter, and portrays Mater as famous Star Wars series villain Darth Vader - a crossover concept that would later be fully realized in 2015.[citation needed] Displayed for preview at Mattel's SDCC 2008 booth in July.

- Cars 2 Duff Wrecks-style promo given to Pixar employees, approximately less than 300 made[6]
- John Lassetire (Surfin') - around 500 made, given to Cars 2 film crew[7]
- Piston Cup Race[8] diorama, auctioned at Bonhams in November 2011. The display is inspired by the final race in Cars, and features 2006 models Chick Hicks, The King, and Lightning McQueen (Rust-eze spoiler version) along with "hand-built, plastic prototypes" of unreleased motorhome characters Albert Hinkey, Clayton Gentlebreeze, and Doug RM.

Other notable items
Four handmade display cases were gifted by Disney to two executives and two designers (one of which being Martin Arriola) at Mattel in late 2008, to celebrate 50,000,000 Cars sales. The cases were personally signed by John Lasseter, and contained 21 of the original 25 die-cast characters from 2006 (omitting Green Ramone, Tractor, the Stanley accessory, and the then-recalled Sarge).[11] Arriola auctioned his case on eBay in 2015.
