The Clipstrip, or Key Characters collection, is a 1:55 Cars die-cast assortment by Mattel. The yearly assortments boasts a limited selection of models from the annual mainline. Similar to the Checklane series, they are placed onto "clipstrip pegs" and hung in other aisles outside the Cars department, with the intention of attracting unlikely shoppers and encouraging impulse purchases.^[1]

The items have never been found inside the United States, being available in European countries like Italy and the United Kingdom.^[2]^[3]

2011

English (W2325) and international (W5520) assortments exist.^[4]^[5] Another US assortment with X1072 code appears to have existed.^[6]
