Mach Matsuo (Japanese: マッハ松尾) is Shu Todoroki's crew chief.
History
Cars 2
In Cars 2, Mach is shown during the Tokyo Grand Prix telling Shu something in Japanese. He is seen after Bruno Motoreau and before Giuseppe Motorosi. Mach would also appear at the at the Porto Corsa and London races still coaching Shu throughout the World Grand Prix before its abrupt cancellation in London.
Neon Racers
In the Neon Racers book, Mach and Shu welcome their racing friends to a rematch in Japan, but instead of a normal race, a neon flair is added to the event.
Physical description
Mach Matsuo is modeled as a 1970 Nissan Fairlady Z (S30).
Mach's license plate reads "八王子 561 て 09-43".

Meet the Cars (2011)
- Mach used to be one of the world's most successful production sports-car racers. He found winning success on the sands of Baja, in European rallies, and in sports-car club races around Japan. When Mach got the offer to be a Le Motor crew chief, he realized it was time to start training and shaping Shu Todoroki into a World Grand Prix champion!

Trivia
- Yoshihiko Matsuo (in which Mach appears to be named after) is the Nissan designer who designed the Fairlady Z.
- In the first Cars 2 trailer around the 0:45 mark, Mach Matsuo can be spotted rapidly passing by in the background as Mater and Lightning McQueen are driving in Tokyo.[1] This scene however does not appear in the final film.

- In the Neon Racers book Mach has the same bio has Meet the Cars, however the terms "success" and "World Grand Prix" were omitted for unknown reasons.
