The 24 Hours of Le Mans (French: 24 Heures du Mans) is the world's oldest active sports car race in endurance racing, held annually since 1923 near the town of Mans Le Mans in France.

- During the time of Cars 2, Jeff and Nigel's models raced at Le Mans in real life, as the Chevrolet Corvette C6.R and the Aston Martin DBR9 competed in the GT1 class.
- The race itself is fully referenced by name in the book, Mater in Paris.
- Marlena Wolfsburg was a Le Mans racer who appeared in the early version of the World Grand Prix in the original story of Cars 2.
- In Cars: Mater-National Championship, it is referred to as Le Cars. In Mach Matsuo's Meet the Cars and Neon Racers character description, it is referred to as LeMotor.
- The real-life people David Hobbs, Mario Andretti, Fernando Alonso, Vitaly Petrov, and Memo Rojas Jr. have all competed in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
