Disney•Pixar Cars: The Racer's Edge[1] is a 2015 licensing art portfolio themed around the World Grand Prix alumni—more specifically, the Transcontinental Race of Champions contestants. Like seasonal and conceptual counterpart Cars: Ultimate Lap, the central theme involves high-speed time trials, focusing (comparatively) on competition and analysis. The guide contains at least one alternative design, most likely aimed at the "younger" demographic side, in line with other recent guides.[2]
Overview
The Racer's Edge is the first theme since 2013 to feature all (or close to all) World Grand Prix competitors in their regular designs, with the prior year introducing the Transcontinental Race of Champions with the Neon Racers and Ice Racers styles. The TROC logo also appears in The Racer's Edge, along with Frosty ("Australian Racer" due to regional restrictions)[3], Long Ge, and Vitaly Petrov – All three feature prominently, receiving new CG art renders. The trial-based circumstances could perhaps be interpreted as side games or practice rounds, held outside the main TROC series events.
"Time" design set
(Name based on GIM apparel collection title.[4] Sticker sheets (772-16110 and 772-16114) referenced for asset composition.)
The main guide concept puts heavy focus on time, specifically "speed running" with the goal of out-pacing opponents and breaking records. The racers themselves are given blur effect, sparking yellow trails of electricity reminiscent of Maximum Velocity (2012). Digital scoreboards, stat trackers, and technical diagrams mimic effects used in real-world, televised motorsports.

"Let's Race" design set
At least one (if not more) additional programs co-exist with the main one; While not common in merchandising, Stor designed a "Racer's Edge" dinnerware collection generally aimed at younger children, showcasing brighter colors, simpler text and less intense tone.

- An actual icon reading The Racer's Edge (styled much like the RSN: Racing Sports Network logo) was created for a post-Cars 3 art kit.[7]
