Followed by The World of Cars: Holiday 2009 (2009)

The World of Cars: Up in Flames is an official style guide created in July 2008.[1] It appears to contain new decals and badge designs built from existing, two-dimensional Lightning McQueen assets, as originating from the original, Supercharged, and World of Cars: Racing portfolios.

Relative to other TWOC-era collections, and despite notable prominence among counterfeit offering, Up in Flames assets have seldom been documented on officially licensed Cars products. It is not clear to what extent the asset kits were available; two identical copyright records were unusually not registered until February 2012 (weeks apart), and give no other information relating to region availabity or shelf date.[2] One authorized product, distributed by sticker company EK Success, notably uses the Race-O-Rama package design.[3] By contrast, one Japanese "Leisure Sheet" sold by KUNO&COMPANY uses the standard Cars logo, rather than the World of Cars one.[4]
