Cars: Race & Rescue, identified in preliminary documents as Race to the Rescue, is a Disney•Pixar Cars art series targeted for Q3-Q4 2025. Themed around EMT personnel, the concept outfits Lightning McQueen and friends in red paint and firefighting gear. Toys based on the segment are currently being manufactured by Mattel, most notably in their die-cast mainline, Color Changers, and Mini Racers vehicle series. Backstory

A Step Into Reading! storybook published by Random House Disney is set to release on September 16, 2025, and will provide original story for both Race & Rescue and the predecessor Radiator Springs Rally Race line.

"Lightning and his friends are hosting a race in Radiator Springs! Chick Hicks is determined to win… even if it means cheating! Can the Radiator Springs Race Rescue Crew keep everyone safe and on track?"

Despite a similar premise, the story and design elements are not connected in any way to Rescue Squad Mater, the 2008 Cars Toon: Mater's Tall Tales short.
