- "You can't do this! I've raced for you guys almost ten years!"
- —Brick Yardley, Cars 3
Brick Yardley is a professional race car and a friend of Lightning McQueen, Bobby Swift and Cal Weathers. He raced for the Vitoline team in the Piston Cup Racing Series for nearly ten years, after replacing James Cleanair somewhere between the events of Cars and Cars 3. Brick was fired and replaced by a Next-Gen named Chase Racelott at the end of the 2016 season.[1][2]
History
Cars 3
In Cars 3, Brick had two wins during the 2015 Piston Cup season, but also competed in the 2016 Piston Cup season. Despite previously being able to keep up with even the best of opponents, Brick begins to have trouble competing with the next-generation racers like Jackson Storm.[2] Right before the last race of the season, Vitoline's manager fires Brick and replaces him with a new, next-generation racer named Chase Racelott.[1] Brick tries convincing his manager to let him keep racing, but to no avail. Lightning witnesses this and asks Bobby Swift if he knows what is going on, only to find out that Bobby was also replaced by another next-generation racer.
Cars 3: Driven to Win
Brick Yardley is a playable character in Cars 3: Driven to Win. Like most of the playable characters, he is unlocked by completing an uncertain amount of skill checks.
Cars: Lightning League
Brick Yardley also appears in Cars: Lightning League. However, he is an unplayable character along with Cal and Bobby.

Bio
Meet the Cars
- Brick Yardley has been able to beat Lightning McQueen on several occasions. He's a great racer, but first and foremost, he's a great friend. If there's one thing he loves more than racing in the Piston Cup, it's the friendships he has made during the course of his racing career.
The Official Magazine (Swedish)
- En fantastisk racerbil, men mest av allt en fantastisk vän. Hans personlighet har gjort honom populär både på och vid sidan om banan.

Trivia
- His name is a reference to the "Brickyard", a common nickname for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. This is also where Bill Elliott, Chase Elliott's father, won a race and where Jeff Gordon, voice actor of Jeff Gorvette won the first Brickyard 400.
- Despite Brick and Jeff Gorvette being 2 separate characters, Brick Yardley is likely based on Jeff Gordon, who retired from NASCAR in 2015, 2 years before Cars 3 was released and 1 year before the opening of the film takes place.
- In the film, he appears with a white spoiler, but on his diecast, he has a green spoiler.
- His eye color is brown in his past die-cast releases. This was corrected in his later releases.
- Some diecasts of him also depict him without a Piston Cup Racing Cam.
- In Record of All Time, instead of having his usual number, 24, he bears the number 61, James Cleanair's number, who used the same sponsor.
- Brick may have been originally intended to be a more prominent one of Lightning McQueen's friends/rivals at the start of Cars 3. The best evidence for this is Bobby Swift's official bio describing Bobby, Brick, and Lightning as close friends and Brick appearing in Cars 3: Driven to Win instead of Cal, as these were both likely finalized before the movie released.
- In the Brazilian Portuguese version of Cars 3, Brick is voiced by the famous YouTuber Rezendeevil, who has over 30 million subscribers.
