History
Cars 3
In Cars 3, H.J. Hollis competes in the Piston Cup Racing Series midway through the 2016 season, replacing Parker Brakeston for N2O Cola. He is one of the six next-generation rookie racers who debut at the Motor Speedway of the South. He finishes 4th at the Grandol Oil Co. Raceway, 6th in the Mood Springs Sputter Stop 350 at the Georgia Super Speedway, 8th in the Bumper Save Gears and Glory 450 at the Heartland Motor Speedway. He later appears in the Los Angeles 500 at the Los Angeles International Speedway. He finishes in seventh place. The next year, he later competes in the 2017 season where he appears in the Florida 500 at the Florida International Super Speedway. He starts in 3rd position and finishes the race in 4th position.
LEGO Pixar: Bricktoons
In "Trust Yer' Old Pal, Mater", he was at the 400 Invitations sponsored by Vitoline, being only a few points behind McQueen from winning the championship. He appears with Flip Dover, trash-talking, and ridiculing McQueen in the race, he spent the majority of the race in first place and proclaimed the cup is as good as his. During the final lap, Flip attempts to overtake Hollis, in turn, H.J slams Flip into the wall, causing both to spin out and crash, leading to a massive pileup with all the other racers . After McQueen makes it through the wreckage by making a jump similar to the first Cars film, Hollis manages to break free of the wreckage, in one final attempt to beat McQueen, but despite Hollis' efforts the race is won by Lightning.

Trivia
- He is the fourth background Piston Cup racer to have a major speaking role in any Cars media, the first, second and third being Todd Marcus, Rich Mixon and Cam Spinner.
- Hollis in LEGO Pixar: Bricktoons is loosely similar to Chick Hicks; both are aggressive, green-colored race cars who are responsible for causing a wreck that involved nearly every racer on the track, as well as being obsessed with winning. Coincidentally, Hollis' number, 68, is essentially Hicks' number, 86, but inverted.
