Agent Healey
Austin Healey was a conceptual character for Cars 2. He does not appear in the final version of Cars 2, only appearing in the deleted scene Prague, where he appears as a British secret agent, fleeing from the Lemons before being captured and crushed in a scrapyard.
History
Not much is known about Austin Healey, except that he was a British secret agent, tasked with investigating Zil's activities in Central Europe. In the deleted scene Prague, Healey contacts C.H.R.O.M.E. requesting backup, before attempting to evade the Cars chasing him. Ultimately this leads him to a scrapyard outside the city centre, where Zil questions him with: "Where is Finn McMissile?", only for Healey to reply: "You'll never catch him! He will stop you!", before being crushed to death.
During the deleted scene "Meet Finn", Finn refers to "The core termination of many of our agents", alluding to Healey's death in Prague.
Trivia
- Many people think Healey is an early version of Leland Turbo, in reality, Healey is a separate character, as Leland dies off screen prior to the original version of the film's opening
- Also the fact that he states his name during the intro of the sequence further disproves of him being an early version of Leland, unlike Giulia who was confirmed to be reworked into Holley Shiftwell in terms of the early spy characters of the film.
- Healey's death is referenced by Finn in the deleted scene "Meet Finn"
- Healey's name is likely a reference to the "Austin Healey Motor Company" a now defunct British car company
- His full name is Austin Healey
- Healey's gadgets include dual tasers and a screen which projects from the mirrors on the front of his hood
- These gadgets would later be reused for Holley Shiftwell in the final film
