Gerald Carr[1] was a criminal and the main antagonist in the original 2013-2014 draft of Cars 3, he made a body swap with Lightning McQueen, and stole his identity. He was living with his Meemaw, and was jealous of Lightning McQueen due to his grandmother always praising the race car and treating her grandson poorly. He, and his appearances within the plot were cut around the summer of 2014.
History
At some point in his life Gerald moved in with his Meemaw, who despised him, calling him a "waste of metal" and constantly comparing him to Lightning McQueen, who she wishes he could be more like. He later started obsessing over the racer, and learning all the information about his life that he could later swap bodies with him. He ended up swapping bodies with three other cars, taking pictures with their unconscious bodies. Later on he managed to swap with the race car, forcing McQueen to live out his life and expose Gerald. While in Lightning's body he retired from racing, and proposed to Sally who agreed to marry "McQueen". It is unknown what happens after this point in the story.
