Kevin Racingtire is a professional stock race car. As number 35 on the Shifty Drug driving team, he took part in several Piston Cup seasons.
History
In Cars, Kevin is seen with the rest of the 2005 Piston Cup racers at the Motor Speedway of the South. When Chick Hicks causes the huge crash, he is one of the first to be hit, colliding with Brush Curber and Davey Apex, and suffers some minor damage, though he is still able to continue racing, and finishes in 22nd place.
Between the events of Cars and Cars 3, Kevin leaves racing, and his sponsor doesn't return to the Piston Cup.
Physical description
He is a Capitol Motors Verve XT that is painted a pinkish-red color, with yellow on his doors, hood and spoiler. He has white rims, as well as the Shifty Drug logo on his hood and the number 35 painted in white on his doors and roof. The Capitol Motors Verve XT was mostly based on the Ford Taurus NASCAR.

Meet the Cars

- With little natural athletic ability, knowledge of racing's rich history or understanding of its complex rules, it's a wonder Kevin Racingtire has been able to last in the Piston Cup circuit for as long as he has. He says his success is because of his family, particularly his father-in-law, who is the owner of the large pharmaceutical company that just so happens to sponsor the team for which he races.

Trivia
- Kevin's die-cast was initially colored dark red and yellow, but was changed to the proper color of pink and yellow in 2015.
- Unlike the other Capitol Motors Verve XTs, which have wider builds, Kevin has a thinner body, similar to that of a Crown Celesta.
- It is possible that Kevin is just a newer model of the Verve XT.
- Ironically however, Davey Apex is a Crown Celesta but looks like a Capitol Motors Verve XT.
- In the 15th December 2005 workprint of Cars, when Dale Earnhardt Jr. was speaking on CRSN, he was replaced with Kevin. This was likely done as a stand in during production in case the filmmakers could not get Junior on the project and secure licensing for him and his company to be in the film.[1] This also means that in the same workprint, Kevin would have had Junior's role in his other scenes.
- An image of him (possibly concept art) hints that his rims were originally going to be yellow instead of white.
- In the Latin American spanish and Argentinian versions, he was voiced by Ricardo Tejedo and he only speaks when he says; "Cuidado".
