Bernie appears in Cars when Lightning McQueen exits his trailer at the Motor Speedway of the South, trying to get a shot of McQueen.

He is then seen after the race has ended, trying to take a picture of McQueen along with a few other photographers.

In last year's No Grime 500, he was mid-shot when he was t-boned by an untamed racer, Buck Schooner. It cost Bernie two and a half months in the body shop, but scored him an incredible shot of Chick Hicks and the August cover of "Runner Up Monthly.""
