  • The name of the Luxomatic JL-57 is most likely a reference to John Lasseter's initials and his birthday, January 12, 1957, which John Lassetire is based on himself.
  • The "Luxo" part of the name comes from the Pixar short/character Luxo, Jr.
  • The character, Kris Revstopski, has a similar basis of John Lassetire, meaning it copies the Pabloloco 4-Cylinder Compact Pickup.
  • This is the third car company in the Cars franchise with "Luxo" in the name.
