Mater's Birthday Surprise is a book.
Plot
This story, set after Cars 2, has the townsfolk planning a surprise birthday celebration for Mater, who is using his newfound spy skills to secretly observe the party preparations. Mater meets Finn, Holley and Siddeley in the desert and gets to test-drive his first present, a holographic disguise shaped like a stack of gifts. The Radiator Springs residents gather inside Flo's V8 Cafe, along with Finn, Holley, the Topolinos, Jeff Gorvette and Otis, but Mater fails to show. After searching outside in the dark, Sheriff and Lightning return to the party and Mater reveals his prank: he's been there all along in disguise. The cars don party hats brought by Lizzie and enjoy some games.
