This is a script of the cutscenes from the storyline of Cars: Mater-National Championship (DS).

Story Mode

Mater: Ladies and gentlecars, welcome back to Radiator Springs, where boy, do we got a lot of busy and exciting stuff goin' on!
Mater: Behind me is where Lightning McQueen - my best friend - is gonna be building his new racin' headquarters!
Mater: And then, even more better, we're gonna have our very own racin' stadium!! We'll se how that's comin' along later.
Mater: But the most and bestest part of all is, we've got all these new folks comin' from all over the world, to race in our first annual Radiator Springs Maternational!
Mater: Yep, we got real racin' professionals visitin' from Germany, Japan, Italy and all sorts of other places I've seen on TV!
Mater: There's gonna be all sorts of cool happenings goin' on this week, races and games, and if we're lucky, a whole lot of crashin'! So you all just stay tuned!
Mater: Ah, dang.

Lightning McQueen: What's the problem, Sheriff?
Sheriff: Speed limit's 25 and I clocked this hot rodder doing 120, that's the problem.
Otto: 25! I never drive so slow. I'm Otto von Fastenbottom.
Lightning McQueen: And I'm Lightning McQueen.
Otto: Yes, I know. Nice to finally meet you.
Lightning McQueen: Tell you what, Sheriff. Lemme take Otto off your hands, I'll make sure he stays out of trouble.
Lightning McQueen: How's three laps sound?
Otto: Like a Sunday drive. I race in LeCars - one race, twenty-four hours.
Lightning McQueen: That's a long race. Let's just start with three laps.
Lightning McQueen: C'mon Sheriff, why don't ya join us? You can blast your siren. It'll be fun.
Sheriff: Distant third, here I come.

Lightning McQueen: What are you doing out here Sarge?
Sarge: Mater thought he saw a UFO in these hills so I'm patrolling the area.
Sarge: Whatever's out there, it's down there.
Lightning McQueen: What do you think it is?
Sarge: Not a UFO that's for sure. Quiet its coming!
Gudmund: Woohoo!
Lightning McQueen: Are you crazy?!
Sarge: Identify yourself. State your purpose!
Gudmund: Oh. Well! Let's see. Rally champion racer, and occasional spelunker too.
Gudmund: Gudmond, from Sweden, You're Lightning McQueen-nice to meet you and... the angry sergeant.
Sarge: Angry Sergeant is right! I should have you court-martialled for reckless conduct!
Lightning McQueen: Sarge, I think he's here for the races.
Gudmund: That's right! Great track down there. A little dark, but not a problem. Who's in?
Sarge: Here soldier, you'll need these!
Lightning McQueen: Cool! Night racing at Lightning speed!

Emma: Oops!
Emma: Oh, I'm so sorry, I completely wasn't watching where I was going!
Mater: Aw, it's okay, I didn't hardly felt nothin'.
Emma: Actually - oh, I feel so silly telling you this - I ran into you on purpose.
Mater: You mean just so you could spoke to me?
Emma: Ahem... I'm, Emma. From the UK. You know, rally car champ and all that.
Mater: Um... I'm Mater. Like Tow Mater... but without the 'Tuh'.
Emma: Well, I'd better get ready - I'll see you out there.
Mater: Okay.

Lightning McQueen: Hey, you're that Japanese drift car, right? It looked like you were taking those turns sideways!
Lightning McQueen: Pretty cool. Hey, you ever hear this one? Turn right to go left?
Koji: You look familiar... you're Lightning McQueen!
Lightning McQueen: Yep, that's me. And this, this is Mater.
Mater: Ko-nichi-wa!
Koji: My fellow racers and I in Japan know all about you.
Koji: They'd all love to hear how I was in an American-style tough race. Do you accept a challenge?
Lightning McQueen: A 'tough' race? Uh...
Koji: Yes! Let's go!
Mater: You better git after him, 'fore he gets hisself into trouble.

Giovanni: Congratulations! The stadium, she's beautiful!
Lightning McQueen: Oh yeah, this is a great opening day crowd. I bet they can hear us out at the Interstate.
Lightning McQueen: Ready to put on a good show?
Giovanni: It will be a great show. However, I do feel a little bad- I would hate for you to lose on your home ground...
Giovanni: But also, I'm not just going to let you win.
Lightning McQueen: I wouldn't expect anything less.
Lightning McQueen: Say, why don't we make it a little more interesting?
Lightning McQueen: You and Luigi, against me and one of my friends. Home team vs away. Okay?
Luigi: Luigi? In a race with a real Italian race car? Is too much! I am so happy!
Giovanni: Okay. This one is for Luigi!

Mater: Well, we wrapped up the Maternational with a great finish, what we found waitin' for us!
Mater: Our new clubhouse!
Lightning McQueen: Mater, it's not really a clubhouse. It's the headquarters for all of our professional racing operations.
Lightning McQueen: Okay, it's a clubhouse.
Giovanni: New stadium, new headquarters. You're going to be very busy here.
Lightning McQueen: Yeah. I think we're gonna need a bigger town.
Giovanni: Haha. I wouldn't change a thing. Lightning, it was a very enjoyable week.
Giovanni: And I hope we can repay your hospitality and host you and your friends in the European Circuit one day.
Lightning McQueen: Absolutely. We'll take this show on the road.
Mater: We're goin' to Europe? And just where exactly is that again?
Emma: It's just over the pond!
Mater: Pond? Aw dang, I can't swim.
Luigi: Everybody, it's time for the end of festival picture! Guido, are you ready?
Guido: Okay!
Lightning McQueen: Okay, ready? Everyone say...
Mater: ...Everybody say Hoo-boy!!
