The 2013 Diecast Collection was Mattel's first series of 1:55 die-cast vehicles based on the Planes franchise, launched shortly ahead of the 2013 film's theatrical release. Advertised as "premium" models, Planes characters were similar in size to the traditional "deluxe" Cars category.
