Scorchy the Deer is a fictional deer character that warns tourists about the fires that ravage Piston Peak National Park and how bad they might be. He can be spotted during the evacuation scene on a roadsign.

• He is a parody of Smokey the Bear, an anthropomorphic bear mascot used to promote the prevention of forest fires, but is a deer instead of a bear, as bears (or at least, car-ified bears) do not exist in the Cars world.
  • The one and only time a bear is seen in the franchise is on the California flag in Cars.
