• Issue 39 and issue 40 were planned to be Cars 2 introductory issues late into production. This is why there are two different versions of these issues, and several different versions of issue 39's cover.
• The Cars Toon section was replaced by "Games 5" in this issue.
• The Lithuanian publication of this issue features the comics "Lost Friend" and "Agent 95", featuring a Cars comic as well as a Cars 2 comic.
