Banged Up
Banged Up is a story in the World of Cars book. This story tells how Doc Hudson became a medical doctor in an attempt to get away from his past as a race car.
The story opens on Doc after his big wreck, he is repaired, then goes back expecting a big welcome, only to be told he's history and he leaves. he's bitter as now he is known as The Fabulous Hudson Hornet by civilian cars, Later he strips his racing decals, and swaps the Dirt Track tires for classic whitewalls of the 50's, but this doesn't work, during this time Doc notices all the cars asking if he's the Hudson Hornet have some sort of issue, like a bent curb feeler or a flat tire. He drives down Route 66 hoping to clear his mind, when he runs into Phillip, a car with a worn out engine, Doc gets him started up again, Doc follows road signs and finds his way to a medical school for automotives, Doc finds solace in his new profession as a medical doctor.
