As is the case with the Cars franchise, the wiki is nothing without its characters. So you may be wondering how to go about creating a consistent style for each character page. After all, what are wikis without consistency?

Formatting

  • Here at the Pixar Cars Wiki, we write our articles from an out of universe viewpoint, as opposed to other popular wikis like Wookiepedia. Our out of universe standpoint is necessary due to the lack of consistent canon, which would require a matter of factualness we do not have
  • Ideally promotional artworks should be the image put in the infobox, except in rare cases where the artwork is either in too poor quality, covered by another character or incredibly inaccurate. As a general precedent, the hierarchy is: Diecast artworks>other promotional art>Meet the Cars/Planes art>screenshots>diecast image. A good example of a character having to use a diecast image is Morgan Martins. He appears so far in the background that it wasn't even known where he appears in Cars 3 until very recently (Thanks Burnout Girl!)
  • Each page should go in appropriate categories, like [MEDIA CHARACTER APPEARS IN] Characters, and more specific categories like or just to name a few.
  • Articles should start out with the characters name in Bold with correct capitalisation, followed by a brief description of the characters role, profession and history.
  • second peice of text should be a more in depth overview of the characters history.
  • Following the history paragraph should be a gallery. This should not contain every single appearance of every character in the background, as it would overbloat the gallery. the only exepctions are when these are characters only appearance, then they should be treated like normal images in the gallery, although where they appear needs to be specified in the caption if not obvious
This wouldn't be an appropriate image for Eugene Carbureski's page, as although he is visible in the far background, he is not nearly prominent enough
